About Us
The Settler's Artisans is a craft cooperative located in a renovated Railroad Depot Building in Michigan's Upper Peninsula at the intersection of US 45 and M28 in the rural community of Bruce Crossing. The Settler's Artisans operates the SETTLER'S DEPOT GALLERY seasonal retail store which features an excellent selection of the work of local Upper Michigan artists, photographers, furniture makers, weavers, jewelry makers, and crafters.
In addition to enjoying the art, photographs and handwork inspired by living in one of the most remote and beautiful areas of the United States, locals (those of us who live here year round) are often available to chat about what it's like to live in the UP...60 miles from the closest fast food restaurant...with 3 spectacular waterfalls within 10 miles.
Visitors to the shop are encouraged to participate in the free book exchange and to check out the recreational opportunities described in the Visitor's Information Section of the shop.
Members of the cooperative take turns working in the retail store and providing information about the area.
If you can't make a personal visit to the shop, please check out the rest of our site which will soon include a wonderful selection of items offered for sale by our members.
If you like our site and want to help us promote Upper Michigan talent, please use the "send to a friend" box below to send our site information to a friend.
